Petaluma Ca MentorMe Kicks Off Spring With a Party with Daily Acts!

MentorMe is a great program in Petaluma that matches up kids in need with an adult mentor.  According to the information below from their website, they are kicking off their 2016 with a garden party – check it out:

slider-mm-groupThe bounty of delicious vegetables in Mentor Me’s raised beds last year was incredible. Our garden, created with help by Daily Acts, contains 4 beautifully-constructed raised beds with super rich soil, irrigation, and wonderful, full-day light. Perfect for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs to delight our mentor/mentee community and add beauty to our neighborhood. What a gift we have…

We’re kicking off the 2016 Mentor Me Spring Garden with a Garden Party!

21364878399_238ec3ec80_zJoin us on Wednesday, February 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Mentor Me Cavanagh Rec Center. We’ll tour our garden, maybe pull a weed or two, and over refreshments we’ll plan this year’s garden with you! We envision mentees (and their mentors) having their own dedicated garden plot within our raised beds where together we’ll tend to our individual gardens. The Seed Bank has graciously donated dozens of seed packets to get us started. By mid-March we’ll also have seedlings to plant. What better way to welcome spring than to plant a small garden with your mentee!

Please join us with your mentees for our kick-off Garden Party.

What a wonderful opportunity to connect youth with the pleasures of gardening and harvesting. Who knows? This just might lead to a life-long love of gardening and nature.

If you’re interested in being a part of Mentor Me’s 2016 garden, please join us on February 17 and kindly RSVP by February 10 if you plan to attend. RSVP to [email protected] or 707-778-4798.

Sincerely,
The Mentor Me Gardeners
