Howdy, my name is Quasi Modo and I am 10yr old pit/Dutch shepherd mix breed dog. I have traveled here from far away place called Loxahatchee Florida. I was abandoned at an animal shelter and because of my strange looks life was looking pretty grim. Luckily, one of the veterinarians there saw the sparkle in my eyes and took me home. I have multiple birth defects to my spine. My back is too short for the rest of my body and the parts went together in the worst possible way. In spite of this 1st Place Winner Quasi Modo hangs out with her adoring fans before the contestI still run, play and enjoy life to the fullest. My appearance can be a little unsettling to some ( I have had grown men jump on top of their cars to get away from me because they thought I was a hyena or Tasmanian devil) but once they get to know me I win them over with my bubbly personality. I love to meet new people and teach them about diversity. I have become a great ambassador for teaching people about acceptance and tolerance for things that are different. You should never judge a book by its cover! Just because an animal or person looks different doesn’t mean they’re any less deserving of love. It’s OK to be different. I have been in the contest once before. Last year after my mom and dad were married in Las Vegas, by Clint Eastwood, they brought me here on their honeymoon.

SweePee Rambo takes the red carpet walk in the hands of owner Jason WurtzMy name is Sweepee and my dad Jason Rambo is constantly telling me and everyone he knows I’m the prettiest little blue eyed Chinese Crescent Chihuehue he’s ever known. He loves my baby soft freckled skin and 2nd Place Winner SweePee Rambo and owner Jason Wurtzlegendary blond Mohawk but most of all he loves my loyalty to him. I’ve traveled to work with him at the break of dawn for 15 years straight. I enjoyed riding with him on his Honda CBR 929 RR until he totaled it luckily leaving me home on this rare occasion. I escaped danger alongside with him swimming the riverbanks and surviving, not

bad for a 4 pound female. I escaped dog pounds to be with my master; I am a ride or die chick. Now that I’m slowing down from old age and am blind in both eyes and wear doggie depends. I am so lucky to have a dad to take good care of me.

Hello, my name is Frodo and I am a 12 ½ year old 5 pound Chinese Crested Hairless/Chihuahua mix. I live in Sparks Nevada with my large family. My parents adopted me when I was 10 weeks old. When my mom saw me, she told my dad that there was no way she was leaving without me. I had a head of bright orange hair and my mom found me irresistible. I love to be in charge and am very bossy. If my brothers and sisters get too excited, I am always there to put them back in line. My mom calls me the Prince. This is my first year in the contest but people have been telling my mom to enter me for many years!

Hello, my name is Precious and I am 8 years old. I am a Chihuahua and live in Petaluma California. I was adopted as a birthday gift. I was in a large group of Chihuahua puppies and I was the runt and was picked up by the other dogs. I had a

sight issue from the vet putting the wrong drops in my eye as a tiny puppy. My owner (adopted human parent) knew from the start that I was very special and would need a lot of love even though I was small and had a blind eye, smaller than the other eye. She loved me just the same, knowing that I would never win a contest from adorable talented dogs. In her heart I was all that and it didn’t matter what anyone else thought. I entered the contest last year and did not win, but my Mom told me I may have been too pretty. I love to make people smile; I visit veterans at the VFW to cheer them up. My Mom is a disabled veteran and gives of her time volunteering also. She says there is no “I” in team, we believe in team spirit and teamwork. She and I love to help others who are down and out no matter what the cause or economic status. We are a team. We love to make people smile. I help my Mom around the house and can tell when her blood sugar is not where they should be and alert my other family members. I love long walks on the beach at sunset, rides in the car with the wind in my face, picnics, table scraps (even though I get a balanced diet), doggy treats and rides in my stroller. I love to come to the Petaluma Fair and enter the contest even if I don’t win. I’m living my life with purpose and love.

  1. This is to Nick Watts…the judge! Was it, really, necessary for you to carry on the way you did over Quasi Modo, the dog who won? You ought to be ashamed the way you made fun of this dog with all his birth defects! Poor pup! Animals have feelings, whether you & the others think so or not!
