The 2016 parade theme is ALL ABOARD! NEXT STOP PETALUMA! Celebrating our rich railway history and tracks to the future with the arrival of the SMART train in 2016! Petaluma’s Butter & Egg Days Parade celebrates all things Petaluma, the history and the stories we love to tell. This year the Parade will celebrate the arrival of the SMART Train in 2016, sharing stories of the impact the railway had in shaping our hometown’s historic past and making it the place it is today. And looking toward the future, what the revival of a passenger train will mean to our hometown’s businesses, residents, schools, and non-profits.

The bounty of delicious vegetables in Mentor Me’s raised beds last year was incredible. Our garden, created with help by Daily Acts, contains 4 beautifully-constructed raised beds with super rich soil, irrigation, and wonderful, full-day light. Perfect for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs to delight our mentor/mentee community and add beauty to our neighborhood. What a gift we have…
Join us on Wednesday, February 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Mentor Me Cavanagh Rec Center. We’ll tour our garden, maybe pull a weed or two, and over refreshments we’ll plan this year’s garden with you! We envision mentees (and their mentors) having their own dedicated garden plot within our raised beds where together we’ll tend to our individual gardens. The Seed Bank has graciously donated dozens of seed packets to get us started. By mid-March we’ll also have seedlings to plant. What better way to welcome spring than to plant a small garden with your mentee!

“Powerful Women From Within” is a diverse assemblage of intriguing, inspirational and empowering individual, partner and group poems, stories, portraits and songs written and performed by the actors. Each woman will perform pieces that exemplify her insight on what uplifts and empowers women. An important objective of this event is to educate and connect the local community with the means to join and serve the greater goal of non-violence and women’s empowerment. To accomplish this objective, an integral part of the evening will be an inclusive networking opportunity and the ability for self-empowerment. Various local women centric organizations will be tabling, providing materials, and engaging participants in discussion and information sharing after the performance.
